You don’t need another feed of AI updates. You need something that can tell you whether the ground is tilting - and by how much. Because the real shift isn’t “better answers”. It’s the build-out of an interface layer that sits between you and the world - deciding what reaches you, what gets filtered, what gets summarised, and what gets acted on without asking. The slope shows up first as convenience. Then it becomes default. And by the time it’s obvious, you’re no longer using systems. You’re living inside them.
Each TrustIndex / Report is my attempt to track that slope - not the hype cycle, not the launch theatre. Each one is an instrument panel plus a signal map - what moved, why it matters, and where the incentives are pushing next. Autonomy. Reality (mediation). Fidelity, Transparency, Portability, and Equality.
The theme for Report #1 is ‘World Generation’
Not “content generation” - but world-state. The shift from making artefacts (images, clips, assets) to generating coherent, editable environments that you can move through, reshape, and inhabit. When world generation gets good enough, it doesn’t just change games or film production. It changes the interface layer itself. It turns “the web” into something closer to a themed, mediated reality. It makes persuasion easier to install. It makes verification harder to sustain. And it accelerates the move from “consulting systems” to “inhabiting them”.
This report covers
why World Generation is a capability trend that really thickens the interface layer
the signals that moved this month (and what they imply, beyond the demos)
the TrustIndex dials - what’s climbing, what’s lagging, and where pressure is building
the second-order impacts - attention, culture, economics, and the trust layer that has to carry it all
If you’ve been feeling that subtle “tilt” as the slope shifts under your feet - then hopefully this project can help you make it legible, in a pragmatic and useful way.
