Real-time Interactive World Modelling
Tencent's WorldPlay is a 'systematic and comprehensive training framework for real-time world models' released under an open-source license.
Tencent’s HY-WorldPlay is another step toward worlds that don’t just look good frame-to-frame, but stay geometrically “true” over time (including real-time streaming around 24fps) - which is exactly the kind of quiet capability jump that makes synthetic environments feel believable, not just pretty.
“WorldPlay is a streaming video diffusion model that achieves real-time, interactive world modeling with long-term geometric consistency by using a Dual Action Representation, Reconstituted Context Memory, and Context Forcing.”
This increase in “long-term geometric consistency” and “real-time streaming at 24fps” puts more upward pressure on the Fidelity dial.
If this sticks, it likely increases pressure toward always-on, navigable synthetic spaces (and pushes everyone else to treat “long-term consistency” as table stakes) - which is a very different trajectory than one-off video clips.
